Begin the day with a walk to Mexico City’s famous ‘Zocalo’ – officially known as Plaza de la Constitución and one of the most recognizable locations in Mexico. Enjoy the impressive murals by Diego Rivera at the Palacio Nacional and experience the majestic Metropolitan Cathedral built on Aztec temple ruins. The Palacio de Bellas Artes, where murals by world famous Mexican artists line the walls and some of the most notable events in music and fine arts were performed.
The markets in Mexico City are filled with family-owned stands, local flavors and intricate crafts. For the street food lovers and those with a sweet tooth, you’ll want to try some of the city’s best food stands.

You’ll visit the National Museum of Anthropology, the largest and most visited museum in the country. This museum contains the world’s largest collection of Ancient Mexican art and anthropological exhibits. Not far from the museum are the areas of Polanco, Condesa-Roma, which have some of the best restaurants, shopping and nightlife if you wish to continue exploring.

Rise and shine! Today, you’re free to explore this incredible city on your own. Grab a friend, grab some tacos, and take on the big city!

Your guide will take you to some of the best taco stands in the city. Of course, every local has their favorite place, so tonight you get to pick your own. Sip on some tequila or beer with your tacos; the perfect match!

You'll head to the neighborhood of Coyoacán, one of the oldest in the city. Here you’ll visit Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul, one of the most treasured memories of the famous artist. Discover a more intimate view of Frida Kahlo’s art, before walking around Coyoacán’s beautiful center, where there are many cafés, shops and unique craft markets!

Buenos días! After breakfast, you’ll board a quick flight to the city of Oaxaca. Oaxaca is one the most well-known destinations in Mexico thanks to its culinary legacies. A walk through its historical center, a designated World Heritage Site, is all you need to understand the hype.

In the morning, you’re free to explore at your own leisure! Be sure to ask your guide for recommendations for the best sites, restaurants and activities.

Visit a local market and indulge your senses as you experience the local fare. Oaxaca’s most famous offering is Tlayudas, or “Mexican pizza”, consisting of a thin tortilla smothered in asiento (unrefined pork lard), toasted to a crisp on a fire-hot griddle and loaded with toppings. Or try Tacos de Huitlacoche, a greyish, mushroom-like corn fungus. It isn’t the prettiest of foods but the earthy, sweet-tasting “truffle” is a delicacy in Oaxaca. ¡Buen provecho!
Visit a local market and indulge your senses as you explore the local wares.

Visit to the capital of the Zapotec Culture and perhaps the most important archaeological site in Oaxaca and among the largest in Mexico. Head to Monte Albán’s flat mountain top for views of the city, then explore the vast site’s temples, tombs, underground tunnels, and ball court.

This morning, explore the beautiful city one last time! Make sure to ask your local guide for recommendations for the best spots to shop and eat.

Visit the local market to gather fresh ingredients for your culinary masterpiece. Then head back to the kitchen and start cooking. Your chef will guide you as you learn to make some of the most iconic Oaxacan dishes. You’ll also learn how to make some of the Mexican culinary staples, like tortillas, salsas, and aguas frescas (fresh fruit water).
Farewell dinner after cooking class is included.
Sample and learn all about the history of Mezcal, the smoky agave spirit that predates tequila. Enjoy and experience the lively nightlife of Oaxaca!
