Start your first full day in Italy with a walking tour of Naples and its historic underground city, 130 feet below the surface. You’ll sample some of the delicious street food along the way and in the afternoon, take a pizza-making course with a local pizzaiolo.

Join your Guide for a walking tour of Naples to take in some of the most iconic attractions. You’ll visit St. Severo Chapel, built in 1590, containing many valuable paintings and fine sculptures; Gesu Nuovo Church, with its breathtaking interior and beautiful frescoes, was originally built as a palace in 1470; and the oldest opera venue in the world — Naples Teatro di San Carlo Opera house, opened in 1737.

Underground Naples Tour
Your Guide will take you to the city underneath the city on a journey through 2,400 years of history. The Naples underground was originally created by the ancient Greeks in 400 BCE when tunnels and cavities were formed as they removed stone and soil to build the city of Neapolis above. Later used by the Romans as a water supply to the city, this impressive underbelly of Naples reveals a fascinating archaeological, anthropological and geological history.

Get a taste of one of Italy's culinary capitals on this street food tour of the city. You'll sample savory snacks like cuoppo napoletano (tasty deep-fried food served in a paper cup), arancini (breaded fried rice balls, containing mozzarella cheese and various vegetables) or panzerotti (fried pastry filled with pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese). Indulge in sweet snacks like babà (delicious sponge cakes soaked in a citrus and rum syrup), or sfogliatella (thin layers of puff pastry, filled with cream or custard and known as the symbol of the city of Naples).
