Workshops
Intro to Travel Vlogging: During the tour of Iceland we’ll take in the field opportunities to share with the group how to capture quality, authentic, and meaningful moments on camera for vlog type videos. Topics of discussion will include how to make sure you capture enough footage, filming practices to keep the process from interfering with the experience, tips for talking to the camera and communicating with your audience, and, most importantly, share how we capture moments that are authentic for memory’s sake. Whether you have a fancy DSLR or a camera phone, this basic and informal workshop will help you up your game. We’re sharing our process as we film Iceland vlogs in real time so you can watch the process exactly how we film our other travel vlogs! This is an informal workshop, perfect for asking questions and getting hands on experience.

Rise and shine to the first full day of your adventure in Iceland! Today you will go on an epic road trip through the Golden Circle, a route that passes through Icelandic countryside to see spouting geysers, crashing waterfalls, and stunning views all around.

Thingvellir National Park Tour
Thingvellir National Park, the only place on earth where you can see exposed tectonic plates split apart and the point that separates Europe and North America. Not only is it a natural wonder, but a historical one also as it was the site of Iceland’s original parliament in 930 AD. On the site, you’ll see the old church and the ruins of old stone shelters.

The Great Geysir Viewing
Visit the spouting hot springs of the Great Geysir and Strokkur where you’ll be able to stretch your legs and walk around the geothermal area. Be patient and have your camera ready as you’ll wait for them to blast.

Selfoss Waterfall Visit
Travel to where the milky Hvita river drops into a volcanic fissure, forming Iceland’s largest waterfall, Selfoss. You will have some time to walk around the area and take some epic photos.

Visit the Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, where you will go for a short 1.2-mile walk. Seljalandfoss is a 200-foot waterfall that sprays through the granite walls and moss. You will walk underneath the falls and experience its strength and beauty.

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach Visit
Be enchanted by the otherworldly views on Reynisfjara black sand beach. With the Atlantic waves crashing on the black-sand shore and giant basalt rock stacks that look like they are from the moon, the panoramic view looks like a different planet.

The lagoon is formed naturally from melted glacial water and is exponentially growing as blocks of ice crumble from the glacier. You will hop on a local boat and float along with the icebergs.

Explore the Breidamerkurjokull section of the largest glacier in Iceland, Vatnajokull. You will pop on a pair of crampons and walk on the terrain of everlasting snow and ice.

Head to the stunning and unique Svartifoss Waterfall, a 66-foot waterfall set in the lush green hills of Vatnajokull National Park. With massive basalt columns nestled in the lush green landscape, Svartifoss almost looks framed into the backdrop. To get to the waterfall, you’ll take a leisurely 2.5-mile hike through the national park.

Head to the Fjadrargliujufur Canyon, one of the most beautiful gorges in Iceland. The 1.5 mile long and 100-meter deep canyon is millions of years in the making, with the Fjarda River carving through the canyon to create a stunning landscape.

Hveradalir Hike
Hveradalir is one of the largest high-temperature geothermal sites in the country. Between the mud pools, hissing vents, spouting geysers, and extraordinary geothermal colors, the hike through Hveradalir feels otherworldly. The 4.5-mile hike will take roughly 2.5 to 3 hours and the weather can be temperamental so make sure to bring a jacket.
