Originating all the way back to Mayan and Aztec culture, cacao is believed to have spiritual and medicinal properties. In the Cacao ceremony, the warm drink is consumed in a sacred ritual, which results in a state of euphoria, where intentions are set, negativity is released and a sense of wellbeing is achieved. The ceremony involves a communal gathering in a sacred circle with music and the sharing of the cacao drink. Devotees are able to connect with their inner self and embrace loving energy in their bodies, allowing them to connect with each other in a deeper way and create self-renewal.

Taironaka Archeological Park and Don Diego River Tubing
Taironaka Indigenous Archaeological Park is a nature reserve in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Established in 1964 to preserve the ancient archaeological ruins located in the heart of the park, the perfectly preserved circular stone terraces are all that remains of this ancient city. Your Guide will explain the culture and history of the park and the flora and fauna you may encounter along the way. Later, grab your tube and set out for an adventure down the river Don Diego which will end at the sparkling Caribbean. Enjoy some beach time before returning to the starting point by boat.

Tayrona National Park (Cabo San Juan hike)
The Tayrona National Park is a large, protected area covering the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Maria mountains with spectacular views of the palm-lined coves and white sand beaches that overlook the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. Lace-up those hiking boots and pack your bug spray, because today’s hike to the stunning Cabo San Juan is well worth the effort. The route is flexible and as there may be some steep inclines or rough terrain, your group leader will tailor a hike to suit all energy and fitness levels. After your hike, there will be time to swim and relax on the beach before returning to the hotel.
