Upon arrival in Portland, Maine, TrovaTrip will transfer you to your downtown hotel. Freshen up and join your group in town for a welcome meal.

After breakfast, it’s time to hit the road! The first stop is the historic and very picturesque lighthouse at Doubling Point, followed by a visit to Boothbay to experience an authentic clambake. Later, a short drive will take you to Rockland and your base for the next couple of days.

Doubling Point Lighthouse is situated on Arrowsic Island on the Kennebec River. This little lighthouse was built in 1898 to help the ships navigate their way through the mouth of the river to the port of Bath.
Dig into a traditional New England clambake that includes fish chowder, two lobsters, steamers, potato and corn on the cob. Top off the delicious meal with the best blueberry cake in Maine.
This morning you will take to the water at Camden to learn firsthand, from a lobster fisherman, how to haul, bait and set the lobster traps. Later, take in the stunning harbor views at Camden State Park and explore the shops and charming town of Camden or participate in an optional wine and cheese tasting at a nearby winery.

You’ll spend an hour and a half this morning on a lobster boat plying the coastal waters, hauling lobster traps and learning about lobster fishing. Hear about the day-to-day atmosphere and intricacies of lobster fishing from the lobsterman and enjoy spectacular views, as you get some hands-on experience baiting and setting the traps.
Camden State Park, with its relaxing nature and riverside walks, overlooks Penobscot Bay and has breathtaking views of the town and harbor below.
Join your Guide for a short drive up to Lincolnville and the Cellardoor Winery. Tour the vineyard and enjoy a tasting of four different wines, paired with a sampler of delicious cheeses.
After a morning in Camden, you’ll journey south to Damariscotta for lunch, followed by a boat ride to the Damariscotta Oyster Farms, where you will shuck and sample some fresh oysters. Arriving back in Portland late afternoon, you’ll settle into the hotel before joining the group for a farewell dinner and reflect on your incredible Maine excursion.

On this cruise, as you sail beside 7 oyster farms, you’ll encounter harbor seals basking in the sun and see Maine’s oldest wooden-boat building operation. The captain will regale you with local history, natural lore and anecdotes of his own life on the river. You’ll have fresh oysters to shuck and taste for yourselves!
